Athena Chen, OD

Dr. Athena Chen, a New York City native was born and raised in Brooklyn. She proudly earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from UC Berkeley after completing her undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University.

Dr. Chen has experience practicing in high volume settings at Veteran Affairs Hospital in Miami and Southern Oregon, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and in community clinics like Eastmont Wellness Center. Her clinical interests include pediatric eye care, myopia management, binocular vision, and low vision rehabilitation, allowing her to support patients across all stages of life with comprehensive and specialized care.

She is fluent in Cantonese and conversational in Mandarin. Dr. Chen is committed to staying at the forefront of optometric care and creating a comfortable, informative experience for every patient she sees.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Chen enjoys reading, traveling the world, and staying active through running and training for half marathons. She also values spending quality time with friends and family.
